He and Egill, his brother, were very different, for instance Egill was ugly and not at all popular. Still they got along pretty well and became good friends. They went to viking voyages together and fought be each other's side, together they were unbeatable.
When Thorolfur was killed it was partly because Egill wasn't by his side. Egill and Thorolfur fought in Adalsteinn king of England's army against Scots and Adalsteinn wanted Egill to be in charge of one regiment and Thorolfur in charge of another regiment. Egill didn't want that but of course they had to obey the king's order. In the battle Egill suddenly noticed that the banner of Thorolfur's regiment moved backwards. Then he knew that his brother was dead (because Thorolfur never retreated) and run torwards Thorolfur's regiment and killed everybody in his way. Then he killed as many Scots as he could. Egill got very sad because of Thorolfur's death.
