Unnur djupudga Ketilsdottir
is a hero because she saves her relatives, slaves and values from a great danger in Scotland and gets them to Iceland on her own. She also took possession of much land as a settler.
Hrutur Herjolfsson is a hero because despite his old age he could kill a thief to help his relative. Hrutur was Hoeskuldur's brother and had 26 children! When he was young he was a famous man and when in Norway he was the favourite of the king and the king's mother.
Hoeskuldur Dala-Kolsson is also a hero. He was handsome and a good chieftain, also popular at the Norse court.
Olafur pa Hoeskuldsson is a hero. He once talked a girl into marrying him, even if she looked down upon him at the start. He could move to a place which was badly haunted and he got rid of the ghost. Olafur pa persuades Thorleikur to move abroad when Thorleikur and Hrutur become enemies, to avoid fight between them. He also tries to make Bolli and Kjartan friends again but doesn't succeed.
An hrismagi is Olafur pa's laborer. An warns Kjartan of danger but Kjartan won't listen. When Kjartan is attacked An stands by his side and defends him against a group of men. He later takes part in the revenge for Kjartan and showes that he's a hero.
Olafur pa was the father of the great hero Kjartan, who was the most beautiful, strong and brave man ever to be born in Iceland. But he was too haughty. When Kjartan knows he's going to be killed he acts like a true hero.
Bolli Bollason is a great hero too. When he is only 12 years old he killes the man who killed his father. When he's married Thordis Snorradottir, Bolli goes abroad and travels all over Europe, all the way to Istanbul. He spent ten years on this trip. When he came back home he was a wealthy man.
