In Heimskringla Snorri writes about kings in Danmark, Norway and England and their families. In Heimskringla can be found stories about all kings of Norway from mythical times to 1177. The biggest one of these stories is Olaf's saga helga. It tells about Saint Olafur Haraldsson who was the king of Norway from 1015 to 1030. In Heimskringla there can be found chapters from Hryggjarstykki, but Hryggjarstykki is lost in its original form. Hryggjarstykki was also a story about kings. It has been the meaning to keep the glory of Norwegian kings in the air.
