Magnus og Eyjolfur write from Landeyjar

When the fall came here in Landeyjar and the sun shone brightly the reporters heard of a great horsefight. At the fight the farmer Gunnar at Hlidarendi brought his horse against Starkadur Barkarson's horse which was red and beautiful.

The fight started with a bang and all the audience had a great time. A foolish incident happened when Thorgeir Starkadarson and his friend from Sandgil, Kolur Egilsson, tripped the horses like idiots. But Gunnar intervened and gave them back in double what they deserved: Their horse fell on them and then Gunnar hacked them to pieces.

Gunnar's horse had to be killed because its leg broke. The judge of the fight didn't show up and that's serious news for the Horse Allocation of Sudurland, because it's clear that a judge could have prevented the misfortune of both sides.
