Odinn

Odinn is the supreme god and is also called Alfoethur (Father of all). Odinn and his brothers, Vilji and Ve, created the world and also the first people. Odinn is omniscient because he drank from Mimisbrunnur well (which is the fountain of wisdom) but he had to give his eye instead of the drink and now his eye lies on the bottom of the well. Nobody can ever become as clever and powerful as Odin is.

Odinn's wife is Frigg Fjoergynsdottir and they have a son called Baldur. Odin also has the sons Thor, Vali and Vidarr. All the aesir (pagan gods) descend from Odin.

Odinn lives in Valhoell. At dawn every day he sends his two ravens, Huginn and Muninn, to fly around the world and find out everything that's going on in the world. They return at breakfast and whisper in Odinn's ears everything they saw and heard. As Odinn only consumes wine, his two wolves, Geri and Freki, sit beside him and devour his food. Odinn's horse is called Sleipnir and it's got eight legs. When the world comes to an end Fenrisulfur will swallow Odinn and Odinn will thus die.
