It is not very much known about Snorri's education and little is known about his childhood. Snorri lived at Oddi since he was three years old and even though little is known about his education it is quite certain that he had very good possibilities to get some education there. The reason for is that when Saemundur the Learned (the grandfather of Jon Loftsson, Snorri's fosterfather) came home from his study in Sorbonne in Paris, Oddi turned into one of the greatest educational institutes in Iceland. From this we can see that Snorri must have had great possibilities to get education and it is likely that his fosterfather has raised him to be the educated man, the poet and the leader he later turned out to be.
