Althing (the Icelandic parliament) started today. Many legal proceedings were discussed and especially the case against Hrutur Herjolfsson. The advocate was Gunnar from Hlidarendi. He spoke on behalf of his female cousin, Unnur Mardardottir. Hrutur and Gunnar were due to the Breidafjordur court. Hrutur suggested that the case whould be dismissed because of some formal faults. Then Gunnar challenged Hrutur to either a duel or to pay all the money claimed. Hrutur asked his coworkers for advise and the conclusion was that Hrutur payed Unnur all the money.
