The great man Hrutur Herjolfsson has asked Unnur Mardardottir, the daugther of the great farmer Mordur gigja at Vellir in Rangarvallasysla, to marry him. They are going to be married in three winters time.

Now that time has come and there is going to be a great party at Vellir on the 28th of July and a lot of people are invited.

Gunnar Hamundarson, a great farmer at Hlidarendi, has asked the fair-haired Hallgerdur langbrok, the daughter of Hoskuldur Dala-Kollsson in Dalasysla, to marry him. They had a good agreement after Hoskuldur sought advise from his half-brother, Hrutur Hoskuldsson.

Now we wait with excitement for the brilliant wedding of Gunnar and Hallgerdur to take place. It will be held at Hlidarendi on the 8th of August and all the patrons of the bride and the groom are invited.
