Did the country found have any value for present people?
Does it matter that someone found countries many centuries ago?
Of
course the discoveries of the vikings were valuable. These discoveries
led to the first encounters of the natives and European people. Stories
that tell about these encounters are impressive for people at modern times.
Today we trade our products with other nations like the settlers
traded with the indians in the past. Through relationships with other nations
we learn about foreign culture and different customs to ours. In the old
days all that knowledge came from the settlers who had the will and adventurous
desire to explore new land and new ways and tell others about their
fantastic journeys. But now-a-days we learn from other means than
stories.
